Cookie policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

In short: Cookies essential for the site to work, plus Google Analytics only if you accept it. No advertising tracking.

A cookie is a small file saved by your browser. Some preferences are also kept in the browser's local storage; we treat them the same way.

The cookies we use

Sign-in session (essential)

Supabase's sb-… cookies keep you signed in while you browse. Without them, you couldn't stay signed in. They're deleted when you sign out or when they expire.

The cookie_consent_status value, kept in your browser's local storage, remembers how you answered the cookie banner so we don't ask on every page.

Pending idea (essential, temporary)

The ue_pending cookie is only created if you click "Save" without being signed in. It holds a random token that lets us attach the idea to your account after you sign up. It expires after 7 days.

Anti-robot protection (essential)

On the sign-up form, Cloudflare Turnstile may set technical cookies to check that you're not a robot.

If you click "Accept" in the banner, we turn on Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) to count visits and understand which pages are useful. Until you accept, Google's script isn't even loaded.

  • Cookies: _ga and _ga_<id>, which tell visitors apart pseudonymously. They expire after 2 years at most.
  • What's measured: pages viewed, visit length, where you came from (e.g. a search engine), device and browser type, and an approximate location (country, city). Google doesn't store your full IP address.
  • What isn't sent: your name, your email and the content of your ideas.
  • Advertising signals off: no data is used for advertising or ad personalization.
  • Retention: detailed data is kept for 14 months in Google Analytics.
  • Where: the data is processed by Google, including in the United States.

What we don't use

No advertising cookies, no social media pixels, no cross-site tracking.

Your control

Visit statistics are off by default. You can decline them in the banner; declining is as easy as accepting. You can change your mind at any time with the Manage cookies link at the bottom of every page: if you withdraw your consent, Google Analytics is turned off and its cookies are deleted. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings, but you'll be signed out. For everything else, see our privacy policy.
